On a side note: the ideologization of Marx's work into what you're calling a religion was already exasperating Marx by 1880. That's why he famously said: "Me, I'm not a Marxist." The only way to be a genuine "Marxist" is to use his method, which he called historical materialism, and arrive at one's own conclusions.

also (more general) dialectical materialism, but indeed the 'dogma' in marxism would be that it is somewhat 'anti-dogmatic'. marxist analysis preferably starts from the present material conditions and their contradictions (dialectical) without forgetting how we got here (historical). the 'material'-thing was, as opposed to hegelian thought that ideas as such ('narrative' as caitlin might call it) shape the world, where marx thought it was the other way around: material reality shapes the ideas.

"...I support shoving things as far to the left as possible until we get a healthy world. "

Could not agree more. And because things are constantly being shoved as far to the right as our duopoly can get away with, on behalf of capital/ism, it's pretty normal to want to fight back or correct the record however we can.

The question about whether Hamas is causing the famine is a textbook example of how powerful, effective, and pervasive Zionist propaganda in the western world really is. What's worse, and even more obscene, another hasbara plank in their propaganda platform is claiming that it's really the other way around. To wit: It's actually "Pallywood" (Hamas's super powerful propaganda production arm) busy pumping western media, social media and all of our dumb little brains with lies - while, as usual, the poor persecuted, plucky and put-upon Zionists have the "world's most moral army" and that "Israel" only wants to exist in peace, but its mean awful antisemitic neighbors just won't let us! Trust us! We're on your side! (stomps feet and puts hands on hips)

Almost literally: Anything the Israelis say about Hamas or any of their other sworn enemies like Iran can safely be interpreted as being the opposite of the truth. To a one; try to find one that isn't.

I never cease to question why it is that so much space is given to what Hamas is doing, what Hamas has done or what the Israeli felons expect Hamas to do next. Along with the Israeli published figure of 62,500 Palestinian deaths, being the fictionalised total, instead of well over 200,000 calculated by experts (not politicians), this is just one more example of an accepted (well promoted) lie.

Fortunately until we receive a standard from some independent but now very harmless international organisation like the UN, we can still assume that the creation of 62,500 deaths is still genocide.

It is an indisputable fact that Israel is the greatest liar in history. Even Goebbels of German WWII fame was a bungling amateur when compared to the absolute trash that comes flying out of Israel's specialist offices to counter what the Israelis are doing by way of bombing civilians, hospitals, starvation practices, sniping children, murdering medical staff and destroying any honest journalistic effort from reaching the outside world. Just one......NO STARVATION. QED

Like antiSentism, the Holocaust, and all the other games they play, through encouraging all the tainted Western Press outlets like Murdoch, Fox, BBC, ABC and half the USA's mainstream media to print their lies day after day, which they are quite pleased to do, surely these lies are just better ignored.....totally.

But we spend so much time trying to counter such lies, wasting thousands of articles on correcting news stories or trying to extract any aspect of propaganda that can be dismissed as pure fabrication. So....let us make this the official line.....

Israel is the greatest liar in history. Everyone knows it. Ignore everything they say.

The Israelis seem to have one answer for everything. Hamas. They had to kill all those people in hospitals because Hamas was using them as human shields. They had to kill all those journalists because at least one was Hamas disguised as a journalist. The other 5 they got that same day were collateral damage. All the fault of Hamas. The Israelis have very limited language skills. One answer fits all. And that answer is.........(drumroll) Hamas.

the same can be applied to quite a lot of conflicts in the world. if things are initially unclear to who are the 'bad guys', i tend to wait for the position of western/us msm, pundits, us state department and 'leaders'. it's not entirely fail-safe, but mostly a very good indication.

The Israelis are by far the biggest liars on the planet, and especially so among countries with a powerful propaganda arm and influence in western mainstream media and governments.

Yes the Americans and other former European colonial powers lie too, but it's not the same, or at least not as consistent. The Israelis are always out front of their lies, often pre-lying to "justify" a planned atrocity of some kind. The other western nations most often lie to cover up a mistake or previously committed more 'minor' atrocity (like the attack on the Chinese radio station in the Bosnian war or the baby formula factory in I wanna say Somalia under Bill Clinton).

if one is indeed so easily identified as the biggest liar on the planet, one surely is not the best. the obvious lies are not for the plebs. everyone knows bibi and gang lies in the public's face. it seems like a grand game of brazen high-stakes pokerbluff is going on in which israel tries to dominate all other 'leaders'/'players' into submission. they all went along with the false narrative and promised 'unconditional' support and many probably did some unsavory things to get where they are now and they think mossad has the goods on them? politically, many painted themselves in a corner (especially the europeans, again).

I think their lies about Hamas are all so obvious, I just don’t understand why there are still people who are so-called critical thinkers and movers and shakers all deny this. Not sure whether they really believe themselves or as you said Caitlin deep down they all know. And this is what disturbs me. To know the truth but then go through all the effort of denying it must have a huge negative impact on your soul. How do they live with themselves. The money must be enough to buy their conscience.

Personally I always find the Hamas/aid question moot in any case. Are Hamas fighters not citizens? Are they not humans? Do they not need food to stay alive? So how is it 'stealing' aid? Aid is for the human residents of Gaza who are unable to obtain it any other way, which includes Hamas and their families. How else are they supposed to eat and to feed those all-important (supposedly) captives?

One of the most insane things the western media is doing in this dystopia is completely hiding the very real fighting that the Palestinian resistance has been doing for nearly 2 years against the IGF and telling you only the genocider side of the story. There is a genocide against the Palestinian civilians that we all know about, and then there's an actual war that Qassam, the armed wing of Hamas (along with other resistance groups like PIJ) are fighting against "israel". The resistance is fighting fiercely to defend their land from the genocidal forces. While Izzy airstrikes journalists in hospital courtyards, Qassam goes directly to where the soldiers are, those many shoot to kill zones the civilians have been ethnically cleansed from, and attacks them with sniper rifles, homemade explosives and more. Qassam fighters run right up to zionist tanks, place explosives, run away and film the tanks blowing up. I've seen hundreds of videos and never a civilian has been seen in these operations. They are fighting a just war away from the civilians and actually succeeding in taking many zionists to hell, while surviving the fighting far more often than the zionists want you to know.

Start with Electronic Intifada if you want to know the full story - you'll hear about all the heartbreaking, infuriating things that "israel" did to the Palestinian people in just the past week, then you'll hear smart analysis from experts on related topics, and then you get to the Resistance report with Jon Elmer. He will show you the most important resistance videos of the past week (unfortunately YouTube makes them edit out a lot of it, like the snipings) along with analysis, maps, and plenty of context. I can't express enough how cathartic it is to watch tanks being blown up by heroic men in sandals who are giving their all to defend their people from those parasitic invaders.

If you want more detailed info about the resistance without the heavy YouTube censorship, you can find these videos on Twitter, Rumble, Twitch, etc, and I highly recommend following Palestine Will Be Free here on Substack.

I have seen them doing some of that often, it makes me wonder why more isn't reported. One I especially liked was an IOF weakling jumping out of his tank and running, leaving behind his multi shot rifle (No wonder there's a big sale on disposable nappies in Israeli occupation forces). Why he thought a tank wasn't enough armament against resistance fighters in sandals is anyone's guess, so now tge resistance can just run at a tank and they'll run - no need to waste much needed explosives 😉

Aside from the thorough debunking, that “Hamas is stealing the aid” thing never made a bit of sense. Why would they? Among the nonsense, there was some implication that they were selling it. To whom? And the logistics of doing so … just another ridiculous lie of so many.

Expand full comment
narjis of many camels's avatar

Someone is stealing it and selling it, but not Hamas. It's an armed gang that "israel" basically throws all the aid to (or they look the other way while pointing the way for the gangs to start looting). They do this to cause societal chaos - the gangs loot the aid, sell it to the markets, and the markets sell the food for extremely high prices that most people cannot afford. That's why a kilo of flour costs hundreds of dollars and children starve because 99% of people have no jobs or money. Ultimately, it all comes back to "israel" who wanted to commit a genocide, admitted it openly, and is largely getting away with it, except for the small but dedicated resistance that many of us hope to be part of.

Gerd Schnepel's avatar

How does Hamas feed its fighters? I guess that they are palestinians, too, that they also are hungry sometimes, and that they eat sometimes food from aid sendings. I cannot see any negative in that. "Stealing" would mean they steal it to sell it at high prices to their fellow countrywoman and man. The only real food and aid thieves are those in Rafah (?), criminals who were armed by Netanyahu, as he himself told the public.
