I watched a piece of an interview with Miko Peled, today, and he as usual reflected the peace of a Jewish man who deeply believes in the necessity to cut the heart out of Israel and Zionism, and speaks against his place of birth endlessly. The contrast is so striking in what it cries out about Judaism versus Zionism.

That is a very compelling teaser for an essay, edition of essays or singular visioned book or other long-form, multi-opined piece on da Muddle East and also on the merging of regional religiosity, identity, real politik and the stoking of ethno-volatility that can be overheated by less visible oligarch marketing v. remote investor prerogatives and domestic business or narrow national trade or individual special interests.

Miko Peled knows all about such things, so he'd be a good collaborator moderating such a useful venture that could hopefully create a balanced if admittedly asymmetrical montage of domestic on-the-ground competing POV (Points of View\perspectives).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miko_Peled

The multiplicity of views within his family and social circles and his inter as well as intra-communal engagement, dialogue and discussion in bi-national living if not in bi-national governing as opposed to ruling over this failure of the early. 20th Century Sykes-Picot Accord if not Agreement

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sykes%E2%80%93Picot_Agreement

suggests the need for generational multi-dimensional perspectives in clarifying the mystifying parsing and resolving of "Special Interests."

No courts whether national or inter-national seem able to handle the competing interests, claims and counter-claims or of the Ways and Means of how to peacefully move regional diplomacy from the purview of the once dominant Ottoman (Turkish) Empire to the fractional rivalries and competing if ever-shifting "special" interests from the various migration and displacements of the early 20th Century's Genocide of Armenians to the programmatic displacement(s) of global Jewry and other stateless nations and diasporas of Displaced People during and since the two World Wars.

Much less any comprehensive reconciliation or resolution of claims stemming from the Nazi targeting of Jews, Romani and other segmented groups of "special" and often stateless people prior to, during and after the Holocaust. Nor can we afford to fail to consider the relatively new process of trying to adjudicate such National Resource conflicts where they cross national borders and shipping lanes v. territorial water claims.

Nor the merging of separate and competing claims or courts to adjudicate the claims of the new nation\states created around such international bodies of water as the Sea of Reeds, Arabian Sea, Gulfs of Aqaba and Suez Canals, Ports such as Aqaba, Said and Sudan.

Consider the High Aswan Dam Project (linked above) and reservoirs or such international bodies of water as the Suez Canal and Zone, Arabian Sea and Ports, Sinai Peninsula, Sea of Reeds and vital hub ports such as Port Sudan and the arid yet agriculturally vital spheres of "special" interests not to mention inter-continental zones and conflicts such as the Persian Gulf and vital shipping interests where the interests of the Public and Private corporate feudal lords dominating markets suggest that neither nationalism nor any maturation of the International Court(s) of Law and civil venues of reconciliation or geographical or merchant-marine accommodation will serve as any magic wand in working towards resolution of remaining insolvable conflicts of communal interests and multi-generational his\herstorical grievances of the displaced and aggrieved masses, much less resolve the growing crises and breaches between various geographical Public Interest and the Proprietary Rights of the Lords of the Seas, Shipping Lanes and most of all Lords of Capital.

I have always said that, by demanding double standards and special pleading, by claiming that any criticism of their sacred cow is antisemitism identical to a Hitler or Bandera, Zionists have created more bonafide antisemites than all the morons ever to post on Stormfront.

This is entirely intentional. Zionists love antisemitism. Zionists NEED antisemitism. Without antisemitism (real, imaginary or manufactured) there is no case for Israel, and certainly not as an apartheid ethnostate distinguishable from Nazi Germany only by its choice of enemies.

Spot on. Israel is a terrorist state that sends United States Congress people money. All the time! Why do they have universal health care in Israel? How can they afford it? Why does the United States beat down the Muslims? Who collected the insurance on 9-11? Wake up you sleepy heads. You are being played.

The US is and has been played by lsreal for decades. At this point, they are squeezing blood out from turnips. Our government cares nothing for the regular working people in this country. All they represent is tax money to pay lsreal while citizens here are without healthcare and even food. We can only hope that the election brings change.

It will be interesting to see whether Australia’s Royal Commission can reach the same conclusion. There were plenty of witnesses who made the point, directly or by inference. My personal experience is that there is almost zero antisemitism in Australia except among neo-Nazi types. I attended a couple of anti-genocide marches and saw none there. But hasbarist media and politicians tell a different story, one where criminal antisemitic attacks organised by Iran were cited as evidence for rising general antisemitism. That story is wearing very thin.

Raoul Christensen's avatar

Anti-Semitism is rife in Australia and any other country that either perpetuates or is complicit in the genocide, of hundreds of thousands of Semitic Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank.

Zionism is a white supremacist, anti-Semitic, ideology and its ideologues, whether “christian" or “jewish" are fascists.

Another cloudslave's avatar

Most of us apply the term ‘antisemitism’ to prejudice against Jews.

Dieter's avatar

Exactly. Segal and Co., as Bob Carr announced in 2014 or so, run this country.

"We can take enormous hope from all of this. We are waking up. Mark my words. We are waking up.

Along with that, do you suppose, is it within reasonable expectation, that the abomination that is Israel/Zionism will cease to exist as a country (putting aside it's illegitimacy) within the next three years or so, and that historians will actually get to set the record straight once that occurs, that the 130+ year Zionist project, which skewed world history, at the cost of untold millions of dead, maimed, orphaned and trillions of dollars in treasure, in many ways surpassing the depravity of the Nazis, do you suppose that story will ever get to be told, or does the hasbara office within the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs (or whatever they call it in Tel Aviv) have some type of Doomsday Machine ready to be activated (seeing that Bari Weiss is now installed at CBS, for example) to keep the truth hidden, the lies still mutating?

The public is very clearly not buying what these motherfuckers are selling. And that is because we all have eyes to see and ears to hear. And our eyes can see the steaming pile of bullshit they're trying to dispense while our ears can hear all the gaslighting coming from their filthy lying mouths.

Dieter's avatar

How the F does Israel keep getting away with this?

The evidence that solidarity with the Palestinians ISN’T antisemitism is clear to anyone bothering to acknowledge that 1) the Palestinians are semites and 2) genocide is a policy that is enforced by a state that is underwritten by the states that are enforcing the stupid law.

So it’s okay for Israelis to charge their government with genocide, but it’s antisemitic and illegal if Americans and Brits protest against the genocide. And that’s the case because the king must always be dressed.

Hallelujah! I do worry some days, but then I see indications that most humans aren't falling for the hasbara and it gives me hope that we'll end this horrible genocide soon. Keep up the good work pro-Palestine activists!

Considering that israel is populated by one type of judaism-Ashkenazi/European, why would all the other forms of judaism(which preach peaceful interactions with other religions, plus the fact that God decreed that the jewish people, who broke all his laws, could never ever have a homeland-and why should they when no one else does?-until the end times when Jesus returns to unite us all in peace. With all the killing, torture, imprisoning and raping of innocent Palestinians, the israelis know they don't have a candle in a fire's chance of being in the saved and united group.

Davina's avatar

Sorry, that should be mostly inhabited...

Commander Nelson's avatar

In my opinion, a divergence between anti Israel sentiment and anti Jewish sentiment either reflects lying to the pollsters or self delusion. Israel is an expression of the will of the Jewish people and of the Jewish religion.

dale ruff's avatar

The fact that a poll in the US last year found 39% of Jews find Israel guilty of genocide and 62% of war crimes refutes your claim. You are ironically repeating the propaganda of the Zionists, that Israel and the Jewish people cannot be separated and so to be against Israel is to be anti-Semitic.

Raoul Christensen's avatar

There are an estimated 3700 synagogues in the US.

Only four (?) have declared that they are anti-zionist!

Your poll should have asked whether those who found “israel" guilty of genocide and\or war crimes, believed that it had a right to exist.

To be against this US backed genocidal zionist apartheid project, is anti-zionism.

Those who believe in the right to exist of this zionist construct, of a man-made homeland for the "jews,” in occupied Palestine 🇵🇸, are zionists, whether they be “christian" or “jewish."

dale ruff's avatar

Your position is a poison pill. It is the Nirvana fallacy. Don't get hung up with labels with many meanings.

Linda Malnassy's avatar

This is definitely the Zio’s position. The fact that lsrael is seen as an apartheid criminal state committing war crimes & genocide against Palestinians by Jews outside of lsreal says a lot. As for lying to pollsters, why bother. Because lsreal is morally corrupt doesn’t mean all Jews are equally so. Many don’t agree with the barbarism of lsreal but instead follow their religion and not an apartheid Zionist ideology based on superiority. The Nazis didn’t end well with this model and the Zionists won’t either.

Commander Nelson's avatar

The Zionists are just following the internal logic of the religion.

It's in the interest of Jews in the West, especially affluent ones, to deny at least publicly that their religion is genocidal, but it is, very explicitly.

suzykoch's avatar

Yes - this is what I would have expected from an honest reporting on reality. I imagine Anti-U.S. sentiment has also risen as well.

Peter Giaschi's avatar

It is remarkable, no? In every Western nation (with a significant Zionist population) there has been this incredible spike in antisemitism...and there's no way to explain it, apart from eternal hatred of Jewish people, everywhere and forever...
