It also acts as a Bat Signal to genuinely awesome people in your life that it's safe to express how they really feel about the Genocide of the Palestinian people around you

I don’t even need to be forceful. Being unapologetic is enough to make most of the cowards run.

Any serious look at Western governments will surely convince you of the need for large quantities of asshole repellent in the world.

I can attest. "Friends" have grown increasingly quiet over the past 3 years. And I increasingly couldn't give a fuck.

CJ>>"Being forcefully pro-Palestine is the most efficient way to weed all the worst people out of your life."

💯 Couldn't agree with you more, Caitlin & Tim! ❤️🙏

I've experienced TOO MANY such people in my life (that I apparently didn't know well enough) before. The Genocide in Palestine (as it's not just Gaza being Genocided) has definitely exposed ALL KINDS of such people...

Also, through this experience, I've refined my thinking on MORALITY quite a bit.

I very much agree. It means that I never have to deal with the crap zionist relatives that I'm related to on my mother's side. And it also weeds out the worst piece of shit that I can imagine, my disgusting cousin Bibi Netanyahu. I feel I'm pretty safe in saying that nobody on this planet has a worse relative than I do.

"...They’re not the sort of person you want in your life."

Maybe not, but we can't all "divorce" our parents, children, cousins, aunts and uncles. If we stand for love of all humanity and morality, then we don't kick our family members to the curbside. We talk to them and let them know how we feel and why we feel that way, but we don't automatically kick them out of our lives. They may yet come to see the genocide and Israel the way we do. If we love them, we owe them that chance. (And many are coming to see things like us from our bold examples of standing up for Palestinians.)

Unfortunately, the terrible people are mostly my family, who I never really liked anyway, but now I steer clear of even more than I used to. The friends and acquaintances I know longer associate with are no loss either.

Yup, it’s a great shortcut. It tells you everything you need to know.

Here is the gist of it, the dilemma of trying to survive in a crazy world: "In a world that has gone mad, it’s important to find little signposts of clarity to help you morally orient yourself so you don’t get swept up in the insanity with the herd."

Palestine is one, and most of the world is with us, so it's not that hard since the majority condemn Israel.

What is hard, and therefore a signpost is refusing to participate in the slaughter of animals. That puts you in a tiny minority often mocked and scorned. It's not hard to hold your moral ground when most agree with you: "Most Americans no longer approve of Israel’s military campaign against Hamas in Gaza, according to a new survey from Gallup, in a downward trend for Israel compared to a November poll."

The true test is being in the tiny minority, as we once were opposing the wars that were initially supported by most , on a moral issue that is only held by a small percentage subject to constanct ridicule or condemnation. And that is why I see a link between opposing Israel's criminal war and opposing the slaughter of animals, not as a side issue but as the SAME issue: opposing human cruelty and working to reduce suffering.
