I still don’t get how the American Empire managed to earn the “Land of the Free” moniker and how it somehow duped the rest of the globe for decades; empires are never free to begin with anyway, so who are they fooling?

I also don’t get how a country run by and I wish I was exaggerating, but here we are tragically…biblically-mad, armaggedon-obsessed, rapture-believing (e.g. Chuck Schumer, Mike Pompeo, etc), coming-of-the-messiah senate is SOMEHOW supposedly the “voice of reason” in this supposedly-rational rules based-order that they imposed on others. Washington accused Iran of being an Jihadist extremist state, despite the fact that their own leadership behaves like some kind of bible-thumping death cult who are itching to press the nuke button on anyone whom dared mock their precious fairy tale which has been grooming them since birth and they haven’t grown out of their immature, magical-thinking phase yet.

Let's do a survey of these "bible thumping" death cult folks and ask them how often do they go to church. I am hard pressed to believe they are in any way about following or even doing what the Bible teaches them because if they were, they would not be such audacious liars. They are part of a cult but I don't think it's the Bible. There is something more sinister that has their puppet strings. They are just using the Bible as some sort of appeal to the hypnotized Christian Zionists in an attempt to make them think they are in line with them. In my view they are apostates doing what their handlers tell them is the "now" thing to do. They get brownie points and kickbacks for their dancing to the pied piper's tune. And since the Israeli Lobby can make or break them, they will do whatever it takes to stay in the good graces of the Israeli Lobby. They know that their days would be numbered if they step out of line. They know that they would surely go "down" in more ways than 7. So back to my main point. It ain't about the Bible because if it was they would not be such audacious liars!

Yep, I certainly have read the Bible, having been raised Catholic, we had Bible study every single day in school. And I do agree, the maniacal “God” in the Old Testament gives one to pause, big time. Then that same “God” had his only begotten son tortured and murdered, so yeah, if read with a keen eye devoid of cognitive dissonance, it certainly would make one wonder.

But to take it a bit further, I often wonder about the “Gods” in other so-called sacred texts and myths. They all seem to have a type of vengefulness against those who don’t toe the line, as it were.

I was raised Catholic, attended Catholic school until 10th grade, and we had “theology” class each day. We rarely cracked open a Bible. I’m always surprised at Catholics who quote the Bible. It’s nothing more than a Big Book of Horror Stories.

Tracking stations all over the world tracked the Apollo missions to and from the Moon through simple triangulation of signals. This included nations who would have loved to prove America was faking the Moon landings. In addition, private ham radio operators all over the world also tracked the Apollo missions. Nobody ever came forward to claim the transmissions' locations were being faked. On later missions, NASA released information to the public explaining where third party observers could expect to see the various craft at specific times according to scheduled launch times and planned trajectories.

I don't believe that this ceasefire was meant to stick, I wish and hope to God I am wrong but I think it is a planned gimmick for the inaugural day only, Israel has already killed multiple people in the West Bank and kidnapped(arrested) over 60, they are playing this as a game, release 90 and recuperate 60, a temporary halt in killings in Gaza, no problem let's kill some in West Bank, they have made a joke of Palestinian life. Today settlers burned houses cars and tractors in the West Bank. "I’m sure they think Trump will recognize an Israeli annexation of the West Bank, and this would be the first test—to see how much he lets them get away with in the West Bank while leaving Gaza mostly alone."

The inhabitants of Zionist Israel are Ashkenazi Jews.

They are descended from Jewish CONVERTS from Europe and west Asia.

They have NO Semitic genetic connection to the Mizrahi, the indigenous Jews of the Middle East.

And even IF that were not so, they have no right to bring themselves to Palestine and tell everybody living there to go live somewhere else.

And then start exterminating

them when they refuse to leave.

Were the Israelis the "moral" people they so falsely claim to be, they would have bought the available land.

And been content with that.

Set up their Jewish paradise and lived happily ever after.

There is NO justification for ANYTHING that the Israelis have done.

It has ALL been done in bad faith, and with malice aforethought.

Every step of the way.

The United States, and all the other countries supporting Israeli debauchery must stop supporting Zionism, and decommission Israel completely.

Those Israelis can take their dual passports, and go live somewhere else.

Then restore the territory to its indigenous inhabitants, rebuild and restore all that was destroyed.

The International Criminal Court needs to strap on a pair and take a harsh stand against Israel and its enablers.

I have read as many here have about the 1920/30s world depression the single thing that most intrigues me about FDR when faced with collapsing banking systems. The story goes, FDR said to the top 1% income, I am taxing you at 93% on the wealth you do not return to workers. When the howling began, " I am the only person keeping the pitchforks away from you" I like to think that story was true and the tax rates of the time suggest it is.

Then 2008 and WE cheer Obama, who within seconds became Obummer. The 180deg version of FDR. Up until then Jimmy god fearing Carter man of peace was my greatest regret, the murder of said 1 million East Timor for having the audacity of demanding equality. Then Obummer, I was even more depressed putting all my hope in the magic mirror. Followed by the traitor to all workers around the world Bernie. I have never in my life burned a book until last year. I pulled a hand signed by Bernie Our Revolution thanking me for the 4800$ of contributions and work, held a ceremony with my Son, and we tossed the book on the fire along with all of my childish hopes in others.

So I agree with you and Chris Hedges, this is on us as united people with no divisions. Workers Strike Back, Kshama Sawant is holding a conference on where and how we go forward. Stay tuned my friend, this may show us where we were, where we are and how far we can go together : )

I can certainly understand the folks who ignore the evidence in front of their face, because it’s so much easier to put on your blinders, plug your ears, and drink the kool aid. Unfortunately for me, it’s very difficult to unsee once it’s been seen.

From my point of view, the problem with waking people, (besides the problem of not wanting to wake up), is that people are not rational beings. In general we are controlled by our emotions. This means that a rock solid case for the truth is useless unless we can also manipulate (propagandize) people into accepting it. This means that which narrative prevails is more dependent upon which side has the more persuasive advocate than which narrative is closer to the truth. (This is also the inherent flaw in the U.S. legal system),

Just seeing that naive (stupid) woman, nominated by Trump for the position of UN Ambassador for the USA, in front of that committee, made me so disgusted. In that room would have been some intelligent people, surely. The words she used, proven to be time and again just plain Israeli lies and the tripe she spoke in that chamber, one incorrect statement after the other, indicated to everyone that whatever you say is the truth........so long as it favours the locally resident Israelis in the USA, the members of the ADL, AIPAC and how many others one can only guess.

She is nothing less than another Nikki Haley, in truth probably nominated by Netanyahu himself.

How can these hearings occur without serious questioning of these nominated applicants. Is this the future for America until one day the greater majority yell "this is enough".

This is the danger we are seeing now and which is likely to continue. Who has the courage to question this in a serious way when the committee involved would have been selected from the elected politicians, 86% having obligations from receiving Israeli resident (local Jewish) funding in last years election, along with the master provider, Elon Musk while Nazi saluting wildly.

Readers today should not think for one second that this type of cleverly controlled by the likes of AIPAC sycophantic behaviour is unique to America. It isn't. In the little (in numbers, big in land mass) USA acolyte called Australia, peppered with USA military outfits, is about to embark on an election of its own. The competition has already started and following the odd swaztika on a synagogue with investigation teams (Jewish naturally) special police efforts, supported by both candidates as they vie for the role as the most grovelling candidate heading for Prime Minister, one trying to outdo the other, every day in every way. And I mean 'any way'.

No. It is not electoral priorities like health provisions, cost of living, climate, housing, or any other matter that graces the pages in a Murdoch rag or pours daily from the mouths of politicians, but good old Israel promoted antiSemitism, the basis of their marketing campaign for elections anywhere in the world from this point on. The average Australian couldn't care less, with the majority hopefully seeing the whole sham as just another Israel campaign. The only conditions required for success being weak politicians, supportive (corrupt) media, alive and well, and money pouring in the right direction, learning from the corrupted USA.

Not 86% corrupt as in he USA in this subservient little country, but on the way. The Israeli circus ramping up in spite of the tennis in Melbourne.

It is all Israeli bunkum but those pathetic little politicians are getting on the Israeli bandwagon as clearly evidenced in the USA and unless someone wakes up in other countries, will be used like The Holocaust was as the marketing theme song for elections, everywhere.

Today's world. One step forward but three back. Look at Trump, Genocide Biden, Starmer in the UK, Scholtz in Germany, Trudeau in Canada and the pathetic example in Australia......and on it goes. More to join those ranks. You can bet on it.

The US is explicitly a secular state. It’s not even constitutional for a legislator to demand displays of religious faith or religiously based belief from anyone appearing at a hearing held by that institution.

This should produce censure or even expulsion. Like immediately. Because its treasonous towards the republic.

The country has clearly been taken over by some sort of zionist cult “Taliban”..

What’s even more ironic is the US government turning into a religious cult….while telling the entire world, including Afghans, Palestinians, Lebanese and Iraqis , that religiously based states and governments are something forbidden to them.

@scorpion command, I read all the comments and I have to say that your comment was the one that I resonated with the most. Caitlin's mention of Elon Musk doing a Nazi salute kinda stung a bit for me as well. I wrote about what he did in my newsletter a few hours ago. I also mentioned the Bellamy Salute which was the way people in the US saluted the flag before WWII. It took the angle of the Cult of Personality and Hero Worship that is the real problem. It seems to me to be an oxymoron to say that Musk is a Nazi if he's sucking up to Netanyahu. Musk is just intrepid narcissist who loves center stage and being important. He is socially awkward basket case and was probably very juiced up as you can see by the entire video of his speech (which I included in my newsletter).

THE BELLAMY SALUTE

What’s really unfortunate about all of this, is how uneducated the populace of the USA is about history. Without any knowledge of the Bellamy Salute, they went into full meltdown about what Elon did. They threw the term “Nazi” around, which has literally lost its power, and claimed he is a Nazi! 😲😲 It is utterly amazing how easy it is to trigger these people. Maybe it’s because I’ve been on this planet for 7 decades because to me, it was of no importance. The so-called journalists should know more. Even the ADL didn't mention that. That's the scary part, folks are just uneducated.

Musk is a whiny man-child and a psychopath but he’s not stupid. He did it twice, the second time more like the Nazis did it, and it was meant to send a message to the Nazis and right-wingers that they have arrived voice at the seat of power. To understate what he did or to excuse it is to normalize it. Imagine what the excuse-makers and Zionist groups would have said had Kamala Harris made that gesture.

And you blame the people for not being educated? How many times has Trump done the Bellamy Salute? And if not, then why not?

Lord have mercy, I am not defending the richest man in the world, which he ain’t even that, but just saying, he ain’t the problem. It’s the human beings stuck in the cult of personality who are the problem. Human beings who need celebs to make them feel powerful. Human beings who clap like seals when a new Superhero is dished out to them. If folks ignored Musk and his antics, he would wither and go away. All I am saying is that if folks knew what real Nazism was they wouldn’t throw that word around so loosely. He grew up in apartheid South Africa, his family money was made on the back of black slaves. So obviously the ADL were unaware of the "Bellamy Salute", much like 99% of the US. And you think that "Elon Musk" (of all people) was aware of the Bellamy Salute?

Seriously? I just don't see "your rationale" behind his defense.

Questions:

(1) Who else (in recent history) has performed the Bellamy Salue? (remember: context matters and form matters)

(2) Has Musk EVER done such a salute before today? Why do you think that might be?

(3) Are there reasons why people (that know about the Bellamy Salute) don't do it? So then why did Musk?

I'm surprised at your naviety about the behavior of Elon Musk - a person that is full of stupid antics (like accusing the Thai cave rescuer of being a pedophile, and hundreds of others). What gives? Are you unfamiliar with Musk's psychology and behavior?

FYI: Musk, ADL, Netanyahu, etc. don't really care about Jews. I doubt Netanyahu cares much about Israel either. Musk and Netanyahu care ONLY about themselves and power. United States Citizens born before WWII as they saluted the flag of the United States. It was summarily dropped once the “Nazis” and their sympathizers started using it. https://www.thoughtco.com/why-americans-gave-the-bellamy-salute-3322328
