The ideas percolating, circulating, and bouncing around and off all the edges of my brain are too "emotionally charged" to be openly expressed in public spaces - you know what I mean.....that's where I'm at.....having looked at previous revolutions in history (and how evil forces have been overcome in the past), what's needed may involve an immense amount of death and destruction (and pain for everyone) and a changing of world order.....

I don't know.... I'm an athiest, but if I'm wrong and there is a God, then God please do something!!!

I know exactly what you mean. I'm of two minds: one mind says, "if only I were younger and more mobile, physically adept etc, etc." The other says, "but then I wouldn't be so nonchalant about facing my own extinction -- glad to put my broken body on the line if it would actually accomplish anything!"

Being an atheist as you state do you just call upon God when you're in trouble do you have it within your soul to praise him when you're down and hurting I know what I'm talking about do you?

Actually, I don't call on him for anything - but I do respect the concept of God and the neccessity for humans to believe in such a concept.

I don't praise God (something that is man-made), but I do show gratitude for many things and attribute it to many things (but not God).

When I am down and hurting, I approach the situation without the need for believing in the concept of 'God'.

If believing in God works for you (as it works for billions of others), then by all means go ahead - I will support you in your beliefs (as it does not interfere with my beliefs - I am a humanist and NOT a militant athiest).

Thank you for your quick response it does make me feel bad that I was so harsh with you but seeing your response eases my guilt some because you still have a long way to come because it's going to get a whole lot worse and before it's over you're going to be praising something and damning something else whether you want to or not.

It's your choice it's the free will that the Amighty gave us all,

Use it wisely.

Yes, it is going to get much worse...

My beliefs in God are complex - like Schrödinger's cat or the double-slit experiment in Quantum mechanics that shows wave-particle duality - i.e. I BOTH believe AND NOT believe in God at the same time (yes, this is difficult for many to comprehend).

I hold two contradictory beliefs (that normally cancel each other out) in my brain. When it's time to think logically (and scientifically), the NO GOD belief takes over. When it's time for emotions, the YES GOD belief takes over. Surprisingly, BOTH these beliefs are in harmony in my mind - hence it doesn't really matter to me if someone believes (or does not believe) in God.

What is more important (IMHO), is morality, hurting other people, doing good in the world, helping others, etc. One doesn't neccessarily need to believe in God to be 'a force for good' in the world.

Either there is a God or there's not a God it sounds as though the part of you that believes there is a God is nothing more than an insurance policy for the part that you'll pay the price for.

Your biggest problem might be you're far too educated by the institutions of man, just know this God's ways are not our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts but he is sovereign and he has prerequisites for us in order to not suffer the second and eternal death.

And furthermore you are not an atheist you are agnostic.

No, I am most definitely an atheist (but a different kind). More appropriately, I am a humanist (or maybe I don't know what I am and am something that is unique only to me).

From [https://www.cyberateos.org/humanism-vs-atheism/] ->

"The main difference between humanism and atheism is their attitude towards life. While some individuals are both atheists and humanists, most lean more to one side than the other. An atheist simply doesn’t believe in a deity, whereas a humanist is more focused on the human experience than they are on thoughts about God(s). Humanists tend to be active proponents of humanity, whereas many atheists tend to have a callous disregard for humanity."
