We lived in the US for 23yrs Fran and were hounded by immigration or 13yrs even though my husband was 'head hunted' by an American company.
Never ever want to see this country again.
After 13yrs we were given a Green card but on entering from another country we were abused by immigration.
I never heard that story in regard to people who came here, and knew a few. I don't know why they would do that to you.
