Hi Che.

I am thinking of a bottle of shampoo! It's advertised on the Tee Vee as the best most wonderful product, it even cleans dishes! When the person buys it and finds out (perhaps) or reads what's in it and sees it is no different than others. Does this assume one has been lied to and you never again buy any product that has been advertised?

Similarly with people in control: once one has lied do you believe them again?

I have a nasty suspicion they will.

Priming the well is a con artist trick. They say the thing far in advance so when you hear it again you are emotionally triggered to be more inclined to accept as true.
