The problem with your thought. It only takes one accidental signal as seen in Hawaii a few years ago to start and simultaneously end the war. When you launch you launch it all. That is their war game. There are no half-measures in nuclear war. One for all, all for one.

There is a change in that attitude. Today, there is an addition to the pill factory at Los Alamos as well as a new pill factory being built in South Carolina. Why would we need to build not only replacements, but new pills if they don't believe they will use them? I stopped believing weapons are deterrents. I think End Stage Capitalism demands it. I wrote/writing a story Run to the Light about nuclear war with China over Twain. I started and re-wrote it fifty times in a way we don't end ourselves. Then the war on Russia triggered (there is a pun here, nuclear trigger).

One of the first sci-fi based books I read On the Beach, please read it. We have learned nothing.

Warning though, I wouldn't read in bed. Caitlin's fellow Australian author Nevil paints a picture unlike the movie.

The people who run the Empire would gladly exterminate 99% of life on earth if that were the price of dominion over whatever is left.

They'd probably get most humans to cheer on their own demise.

I think that's what worries me the most - the "upper crust of society" as you say, believes they have complete control of the situation. How often in human history has this idea been proven wrong - when it comes to human war!

I think you are right, Ernesto.

All these US-inspired disruptions around the world have one advantage to America. They are nowhere near the US mainland. Not one even comes close.

As I have been saying for some time, a couple of nuclear armed submarines in international waters off the coast of New York, just sitting there enjoying the sunshine, would do magical things to the 86% Zionist owned Congress in Washington. This could be a prelude for a mass migration out of New York city which would effect the arrogance and remaining popularity and certainly the credibility of the Biden camp of militarists and their Israeli masters.

Now who would ever do anything like that? A submarine?

Most of the world actually, those with such weapons, and nuclear submarines. But not countries like little Australia, dancing to everyone's tune as a vassal state, now warring against Yemen and Gaza as commanded by Biden. We don't get our submarines through a sham project called AUKUS for another twenty years, $365 billion...money for Biden's mates....the military / industrial complex, yet again.

What about a crowd-funding campaign for just one year for just one submarine? Donations in all currencies accepted. But not shekels.

Just a suggestion to bring the world back to a level of realism....and to recover lost humanity.
