Many of the “treaties” to carve up the petroleum reserves were drawn up in secret, and not well-publicized in the USA.
If you have more time, perhaps you can explain about the dissection of the Levant as the spoils of war between the British and Ottoman Empires, and the creation of Saudi Arabia, and the creation of Kuwait upon an oilfield, and the relationships with Dubai and the UAE.
It may not be “ALL” about the oil, but I daresay it’s mostly about the oil, control about access to the oil and control of the fossil fuels prices. Most Americans are unaware because the mass media and public education system has deliberately not informed them.
