Regardless of the lies, Trump could have deployed the National Guard from every border state to defend the border and didn't. Instead of played the game called "Immigration reform" political theater.
I understand its hard to let go of the hope that he could be upstanding but his selection of Vance should make it clear - war with Iran is more important to Trump than finishing a border wall or stopping the invasion.
My expectations for Trumps next up at bat:

2. Not deport anyone, maybe a few flag burners for the optics
3. Threaten and eventually go to war with Iran.
