Well, of course..Trump was a registered NY Democrat in the '80s and '90s, and still has many of those beliefs today, unfortunately...But the Democrats left him, and he ran more or less on the same principles that were OK in the '80s, but now make you Hitler...but for my family, avoiding armageddon and closing the border are the main issues...and people saying that you're Hitler and trying to assassinate you are not your friend....
Think about this then: Trump had the chance to close the border and build the wall yet he failed, he can build a skyscraper , a huge hotel in multiple different countries but he can finish a wall along the border ?
Why would you think he will finish it this time around ?
Trump's hands were tied fiscally somewhat by Congress and the courts, and he did finish part of the wall, but yes, he should have ignored them and built the wall with military funds, regardless...For which he would probably have been impeached...

Illegal immigration has been going on forever, Reagan famously granted amnesty.
Regardless of the lies, Trump could have deployed the National Guard from every border state to defend the border and didn't. Instead of played the game called "Immigration reform" political theater.
I understand its hard to let go of the hope that he could be upstanding but his selection of Vance should make it clear - war with Iran is more important to Trump than finishing a border wall or stopping the invasion.
My expectations for Trumps next up at bat:
1. Ignore the border wall
2. Not deport anyone, maybe a few flag burners for the optics
3. Threaten and eventually go to war with Iran.
These are the exact things he did in his last presidency.
What Dem “beliefs” of his are unfortunate? That genocide is good as long as the victims aren’t white and Christian? Or that pretending to care about societal needs and instead cutting budgets for mothers and infants resulting in the highest infant and maternal mortality rates in all developed nations? (Yes, Mexico has a far lower mortality rate because they provide prenatal care to all women). Or that a convicted rapist, convicted felon, treason instigator and blackmailer(etc) can still run for president? Yeah. That sounds like both scum-sucking parties.
