Several US tech companies, particularly those producing chips and micro processors moved their operations to Taiwan as part of the Neoliberal doctrine and they no doubt retain high level US contacts.
One important area in which Amerika fears a threat from China is in the Hi-Tech industries, especially A.I. in which most people believe China holds the lead. But these companies have ties with mainland China, so they might be a valuable industrial intelligence asset.
I just dunno why Amerika is so keen on Artificial Idiocy, they don't seem to be short of the real stuff.
It was OBVIOUSLY put in place in the manufacturing process. Even an IDIOT can see that. I'm saying it so that's true. Those gadgety things are all sealed up. You can't just open them up and tinker with them. Of course the factory is going to deny it. As the naughty but perspicacious Mandy Rice -Davies once pointed out in another context.
It makes you wonder--what other electronic devices have been tampered with, and how much did they bribe the factories to do the dirty work for them?

So bribes might not be needed.
Hmm... Could this be the reason the US wants to "protect" Taiwan from mainland China so much? It wants to protect their killer tech operations there?
