And the very close connections Germany then built up with the US, only to find the US now contaminated with rampant ideological corruption and militarism - that the Germans are all too aware of can happen to a society?
I too hope the Germans find a way to cut the suicidal umbilical cord they have with the US - and make their way back into a more humane and rational approach to a healthier identity.
I hope so, too, but for Germans, questioning the Atlanticist orientation is a faux pas akin to interrupting a High Papal Mass to demand that the person who just farted please identify himself.
