I will keep this short and simple. Firstly, the US empire creates the image that we are the ultimate good that everything we do is altrustic. Now make any claim about a US competitor and you'll find the US has done the same thing or worse. We have invaded many nations unprovoked. We have used nuclear weapons on a country while no other has. We didn't care about the Ukraine in 2014 nearly as much as we do now. We didn't care about China a decade ago as a military threat because they weren't, and they are still not. We have had a lot of relations with Russia as a country under Putin for 20 years and only now he is this 'big bad Russian'. We were fine with Yeltzen. We have this idea that we need to preemptively stop potential threats before they attack us. Russia, China, terrorists etc. Thing is that is also provocation. There is no evidence either Russia or China intend to attack us. Propaganda sure, but neither is demonstrating any offensive intent, yet we are, by surrounding them with military presence. Weird, that the US is only allowed to do this.

True, those generally follow after our regime changes. We support, instill those who have our best interest. Ironically, that's democracy ;) Kaitlin recently mentioned we don't have free elections at home, her article about how they are for children. We do interfere in other country's elections, I was just keeping with the military topic.

"We didn't care about the Ukraine in 2014 nearly as much as we do now." I don't know about that, we sure cared enough to overthrow their government starting with the first color revolution in 2004-5, so I think we certainly did care about Ukraine, .... but not enough, in the years from 2014-2022, to literally do one iota for their people. While we were getting them militarily up to speed in those years, Ukraine remained the poorest and most corrupt country in Europe.

Yes, we didn't care about the country, it was our own vested interest. Overthrowing the government was a self serving move. What I was saying is that in 2014 there wasn't an outpour of support for the Ukrainian people. We have a very strong emotional bond about this war. Ask people about Russia and the Ukraine back then and most would draw a blank. I fully agree with what you are saying as it is true. When I said we didn't care in 2014, most were less interested in it than now, as far as supporting the Ukraine. https://scheerpost.com/2023/01/30/caitlin-johnstone-what-the-msm-can-no-longer-say/

That is because the media portrayed it differently than now...very differently.
