Given the corrupt and debased state of our political apparatus, what constitutes "Opposition" at this point? The sitting President has received more money from Israel lobbyists than anyone currently in political office. His likely opponent in the general election also supports Israel. Approximately 90 percent of Congress supports Israel. This reminds me of the debates over campaign finance reform. The reason why nothing on that front has changed for the better is because true reform would have to be passed by the people whose political fortunes are financed by their corporate masters.
I hate to say it, but I think the fate of the Palestinians has been sealed, and we are left with the challenge as to how we handle the anger and shame of being made to bear witness to a crime against humanity sponsored by our government (which we believe we had a hand in creating). We have our work cut out for us.
