Frankly, my answer to the question(s) is no.

Let’s face facts.

Gaza is gone.

This nonstop bloodbath has gone on unabated for over a year straight.

With the exception of the heroic Yemeni, the people of the earth have generally treated this genocide like a spectator sport.

But, I’m not going to defame the names of the righteous, the same as the rotten.

That’s not right, and not productive.

I look back at how long the genocide of the American Indians has been going on now.

They aren’t completely dead and gone, yet.

But, the effort is being made to breed the red man out of existence, so there is no one left to reclaim their stolen land.

I imagine that the same will be done to the surviving Palestinians.

The ones that aren’t murdered will be bred out of existence.

No living Palestinians means no Palestine.

You and I will probably be dead and buried by the time that they finish the crime.

Sorry Occi.

I wish that I could be more optimistic.

Y'know, I was desperately trying to stay out of this long thread because there's far too much ad-hominem merda in it for my liking. But as I was out in front of my house just now, watering and picking up the (daily) discarded soft drink containers that to me are a good representation of the deterioration of this society into utter mediocrity, my neighbor -- with his Harris/Walz yard signs asked me why I wasn't displaying any. I told him that I was voting against war, for Jill -- not the a-holes supporting genocide and the effing Zionist lunatics in Israel and the Biden/Harris administration.

This led to his rap about "Hamas terrorists".

"Jesus H, they're a guerilla movement trying to free themselves from a brutal illegal occupying force," I said. "Would you have condemned Sitting Bull and Geronimo for trying to kick the US cavalry off their land, for killing buffalo for sport? Condemn the Vietcong for opposing the US invasion of their country?" Since he's my neighbor, I shut my mouth before I screamed "wake the fuck up".

But alas, I do not think he heard me. That's one big fucking trouble in Amerika --- educational system failing to produce an adequate mass of critical thinkers who can, on their own, make the key connections that inform a genuine understanding of the arc of history, especially where it concerns their limited understanding of this country's crimes, which might threaten the easy casualness of their daily life. That's not a condemnation of every American, but there are so so many institutions within the society that are irretrievably corrupted. Why? Long story of perhaps good intentions gone awry. Or maybe more sinister than that; I'm no guru and can't make any more definitive statements without being a presumptuous a-hole --- which I'm trying hard to avoid. But thanks to everyone for the discussion. And once again, bless you Aaron Bushnell, you brave American soul.

Sorry about my misdirected reply, Vin.

My neighbor on my right is a bubble headed Harris/Walz bimbo, in her eighties.

We can agree on the disgusting nature of trump.

But, when I loathe the democrats, she can’t handle that.

I appreciate all of the Kamala and Trump placards.

Makes it easier to locate idiots/adversaries/enemies.

I’ve been flying a Palestinian flag day and night for five years now.

It doesn’t inspire any conversation on the part of the observers.

But, I’ve got a somewhat aggressive attitude, so the subject continually comes up anyway.

Thought I was gonna have to fight a motherfucker the other day.

People don’t appreciate or approve of the various Palestine media that I send their way.

I’m accused of hurting people by showing them the reality of the day.

I may not change any hearts and/or minds.

But, I’m not going to allow anyone to go along on their merry way, while kids are being blow away, and burnt up/down and out.

I could use a neighbor like you, Vin.

Thanks. Likewise. I have only one like-minded couple around the block, who are my close friends; otherwise, this neighborhood, like the state of NM itself is revoltingly deep blue, so as usual in this absurd electoral system, my vote has essentially no impact other than its meaningfulness to me.
