I remain very suspicious that Israel was unaware of the impending assault by Hamas. They knew, they let it happen, which gave them a reason they needed to carry out what only can be defined as an ongoing genocide in Gaza. If it was a response to the assault implemented by Hamas why would they be clearing the land of it's people and making it uninhabitable? The same agenda is occurring in the West Bank but at a slower pace, since homes and lands are taken as are the people's livelihoods. " Israeli forces have killed more Palestinians in the occupied West Bank in 2022 than they have in a single calendar year since the Second Intifada, according to data compiled by Middle East Eye." No matter the numbers, the deaths inform the inhabitants that their homeland is not a safe haven. Israel in it's sense of entitlement and sense of superiority seem to have little to no empathy for the Palestinian people. If there is a coming together, it will take generations to find forgiveness for Israel's savage attack which continues with the full support of it's people.
This is why I am very suspicious they were unaware of an impending attack by Hamas, and they were even informed by sources one was in the works. It tells me they wanted it to happen since it provided them the excuse to rid the land of Palestinians which has always been their objective. How does one acknowledge the NAKBA and claim that's not true.
"Over the course of 2020 and 2021, groundbreaking investigations revealed in stark detail Israeli authorities’ intensifying use of surveillance and predictive technologies to police and control Palestinians. Subjecting Palestinians to such scrutiny from security and military apparatuses narrows their expressive spaces and plunges them into a state of constant anxiety. This practice also carries out a commercial purpose: Occupied Palestine effectively functions as an open-air laboratory for Israel to test techniques of espionage and surveillance before selling them to repressive regimes around the world. This commerce has troubling implications, particularly as more governments have leveraged digital monitoring tools against political opponents, activists, journalists, civil society workers, and others deemed “threatening.” The case of the Palestinians, then, can be understood as an ominous example of how various actors can probe deep into private lives through the ever-watching eyes of surveillance."
"In a televised press conference on Saturday, Netanyahu called the conflict an “existential war” that must be fought until victory, despite pressure and costs, and said Gaza would be demilitarised and under Israeli security control. So Israel is fighting for it's very existence, and therefore no limits they can implement to take down their enemy.'
"Existential war is a war for existence, not for status, power, territory or resources, but for existence itself – as a nation, as a people, and ultimately as an individual. When human beings fight for those stakes, there are no limits."

So much for Netanyahu's ability to seek peace.

Not to mention that in 1978 Israel was attacked Oct 6, or 7, the Yom Kippur War.
