I think the answer is that money is God, and God has spoken, through billionaires like Musk who coughed up 250 million to elect Trump (1/1600th of his wealth and the rightwing AIPAC which spent more to defeat progressives with rightwing stooges than any group in history, money money money.....which is why Marx envisioned communism as abolishing money (ie circulated wealth, which can be accumulated and thus concentrated) and "private property (not personal possessions but wealth used to make wealth like rental property, stocks and bonds, etc). When we abolish money, we may use labor vouchers which are earned and expire on use (not accumulation), and we will reclaim the older social contract based on mutual debt and mutual aid, which is calculated without money but on the basis of social relations (you help your friend move; he in turn helps you dig up your garden). It will take first an intellectual revolution to understand the concepts that form the foundation of the current system and then the imagination to reform a world based on mutuality, instead of the cold cash calculation that rules us today.
