The unlikely bed-fellows pairing of evangelical Christians and Zionists just boggles my mind. The latter are bent on world domination for Jews, while the former believe that the "rapture" will transform Israel into a promised land for their kind and when that happens the Jews will all be gone from that area. You couldn't make this stuff up if you tried.
It's cult like thinking, there is no rationale to it. Both believe in the destruction of the other. Yet at this point, I really doubt the Zionist Israelis think for one moment that they will be destroyed. They know full well, that they made it all up for the Christians to believe it so they could bide time before they finally reveal to them, "Haha, we was just playing, and you fell for it. We are God's Chosen People and we will destroy you before you destroy us. So keep waiting on your Savior, it's been over 2k years and he ain't showed up yet."
