It is my personal belief that every politician who votes for war must personally serve in active combat along with every member of his/her immediate family — children, parents, cousins, spouses.
If they are unwilling to make such sacrifices, then they must not be obeyed.
All wars must be funded by taxation of those who benefit the most— the wealthy. No defense contractor must ever be allowed to profit from war. I appreciate the need for military materiel and contractors who produce it. They deserve “break-even” compensation for that. Defense contractors’ salaries should not exceed those of the military personnel.
