It has profoundly shaped the modern Western establishment and cultural POV. But now stepping well beyond mere grabbing the bullhorns, complaint, and appeals for sympathy and help, so that we have of course genocide and widespread speech suppression, the latter even in the U.S. It's been overplayed, and very badly.
So I've also been thinking about the psychological stuff for a while. I often find myself thinking "This is nuts! These people are simply crazy! ...and no one is able to hold up a mirror" I'm no professional or expert, but there are certainly well-understood psychopathologies at work here, even if off the top of my head I don't know the specifics. What is it called when it is widespread as a basis through a culture, not an individual, has it?
