I don't want to bring religion into a secular site. But as Buddha's teachings are a philosophy ( and not a religion ), I am tempted to quote his exhortation to see things as they really are, to know reality; that "everything is burning". Going from the sublime to the mundane which Caitlin and all of us are concerned with here - we have to open our hearts and minds to see things as they are. It is glaringly obvious that most of us are living in an empire. The US empire controls the world not only with its endless wars but with a relentless propaganda of manufacturing consent disseminated instantly all over the world. It has a network of vassal states to enable its domination as we are currently witnessing with the proxy war on Russia. It surrounds China and the rest of humanity with its military bases. Democracy has become a dirty word for those who are oppressed, while we know that it is really neoliberal capitalism's masquerade. Even with "small puny men ruling over broken wealth" (Mahabharata), the non-seeing, the non-seekers of the truth are the many; those who go along with the status-quo are numerous. Where are we going with all this .....
