So - freedom of assembly and freedom of speech are now extinct. Not much left of that Constitution, is there. What a legacy.

The Constitution has long been a dead letter. Laws are meaningless if you cannot enforce them.

After seeing what was done to the children of the rich and connected at Columbia, if anyone now thinks that the establishment will not do whatever it takes to retain power, break any law of God or man, then I truly have no words for such naivete.

Unfortunately this (crackdown against Columbia University protests) follows a pattern in of suppression by Govt. in US history. What is different this time is the speed with which the crackdown (suppression of protesters) began.

Check this video out: DemocracyNow->Juan González Reflects on Historic 1968 Columbia Protests & Crackdown on Gaza Solidarity Encampment (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwIJcHfqaeA)

Most large protest movements begin at Universities. Hence, that is where the Govt. concentrates its 'crackdown' efforts - and the US has a sordid history of cracking down on peaceful University protests - be it about Vietnam, Iraq, other major movements, or Palestine.

These protests are different, they are planned, paid for and being executed by activists. Not for the stated propaganda purpose of telling Israel off but as a prelude to the Summer Of Love 2.0.

It seems to me that they are trying to get a student shot by the National Guard, the deep state has obliged and sent in the troops early all in preparation for the shooting of the martyr student on the anniversary of Kent State Massacre.

One of my best friends son was shot and killed at Kent State.......whoever is inciting what it doesn't matter. The fact is the kids are angry and there is nothing to stop them carrying on. 10=12 young kids shot and killed by the US Govt. Too late to stop this now.

Perfect. Thank you. Looks like being a Constitutional scholar is pretty pointless now. I do wonder if the Dems will be so hypocritical as to screech about the Constitution now, when it suits them - oh, wait.

We will still have constitutional scholars, in the sense that their job will be to rationalize what the establishment wants rationalized.

Same as it ever was.

Yeah, and imagine the value of a law degree from such corrupt, degraded universities.

Such a piece of paper is very valuable, as the rich and powerful have need of glib courtiers.

Not for long I suspect.

This is the problem with private/money owned Universities.

Thanks. I did that illustration way back in 2017. We've been in decline for some time, but it is accelerating now.

Makes me think of a poem I wrote:

I read somewhere

That people have a right

To speak and assemble and petition.

I think I saw it written

In the back of a text

That has been discontinued.

( wrote it in 1963.)
