Yes, you are right, Susan, But Realist also is right in that many have not made the grade or continued a film career for the reasons mentioned. The same reason that all will be quiet at the Oscars this year as well.

One example, Mel Gibson.

This sublimation by the empire managers to an unholy bunch of murdering misfits, needs to cease, now

A comment from an ex-Senator in the USA named James Abourezk……..

“The public must realise that far from being an asset, Israel is a chronic liability that squanders billions of American dollars, drags the United States into wars and whose genocidal treatment of the Palestinians is radically destroying America’s moral pretensions in most of the world.”

The USA is burning its bridges, one by one. Ralph Nader today suggested that the death toll in Palesrtine is really 200,000, not that this figure will have any effect of the criminal Congress, the likes of Schumer, Blinken the wandering Jew or people like Nuland, now on the way out.

People like that just don’t give a damn

Mel Gibson did it to himself, with one drunken night to many. And he pretty much insinuated what Realist just insinuated in the original post, that all jews are responsible for some "evil" - in Mel's case, it was all the wars in the world.

It wasn't because Hollywood does indeed have quite a few CEOs who are Jewish - it was because Gibson exposed to the public a personal character flaw that was so egregious - people didn't want to be associated with him anymore.

By the way, I still watch Braveheart from time to time - an amazing film. It's really sad his career took a hit after that fateful drunken day.

"People"?

You mean -after- they had been propagandized by the Jewish Lobby?

I'm sure you've heard, "All wars are banker's wars".

The corollary, "All bankers are Jews".

Now, think carefully about what I'm suggesting here.

This is NOT an indictment of -all- Jews.

Refer to the Pew study that only 5.8% of the US population is Jewish. It should be obvious that small minority has influence over US politics that far, far, far outweighs their numbers.

Why?

My apologies, Jamenta. Information about which I was unaware.

No need to apologize to me Contrarian. You didn't insult me - you just had a different opinion. Which isn't a thought crime ... yet.

I know that many people do not seem to care about what is happening in Gaza. Still, I think it is important to think about how we say what we need to say and don't increase the actual antisemitism. We need to be able to critique the claims that speaking against the State of Israel is antisemitic which means we need to think about not confusing the term "Jew" with the term "State of Israel"; make it very clear that our criticism is of the State of Israel or Netanyahu and not a criticism of anyone for being Jewish.

Agreed, as would most readers, I am sure. Caitlin too.

However, I do feel that calling someone antisemitic has been used as a weapon by Jewish people as well as the media, primarily in the USA, where a population has seen its political class discard their once held values for financial support, just to maintain a well paid seat in government. 86% fit that bill in Congress alone. From then on, needing to toe the line. Hence we see support for genocide, multi billions in aid for inhumane acts, still in progress.

It has since become a tool with which to beat down opposition to anything stated that is in any way a criticism of questionable Jewish behaviour as well, of which there has been a great deal in recent times.

If there was a similar phrase, such as antiArabicism would we be screaming about this every day as we see and hear the disturbing comments by members of the Israeli Knesset and the people of Israel. I won't list them but in my lifetime, I have never heard such disgraceful comments against a race of people, that is Palestinians, even against the Nazis in WWII.

After 9-11 I heard many disgusting comments about Muslims and people of Arabic descent. It would seem that people have a difficult time seeing that there are horrible people of all religions and ethnicities as well as really fine people. There are certainly many Christians who have committed horrible crimes. I think it is very important right now to be careful not to be antisemitic so that as the State of Israel commits its actual crimes we can speak out against them and underscore what we are saying as being against the State of Israel and not against all Jews. I think that right now it is more important even than it was before October 7th to be really careful to use clear language and to make it clear that what we oppose is what the State of Israel and its military is doing to Palestinian people and to Gaza.
