Good for you! I have brought up this issue as well. In the discussion on the De Maupassant, Saunders asked "Is it really the case that not a single one of these people would be capable of seeing what he or she has done," I replied, "Such a good question. We could ask that question of today's mainstream media, and politicians who, it would seem are incapable of calling out genocide."

Why is the media calling out the genocide more important than the politicians breaking off all diplomatic relations with Israel and expelling every single Israeli citizen from the country, eh?

Focus on the people who matter and demand that Israel become a pariah nation in diplomatic terms and promote UN resolutions to throw Israel out of the UN. Oh, it will be veteod by the USA, but a vote of 150+ in favour would tell Israel in no uncertain terms that they are no longer a nation people want to interact with.

Exactly! Thank you. It is staring us in the face, this parallel, the point of De Maupassant's piece, surely is that people let terrible things happen. Someone accused me of disrupting their safe space when I pointed out that we can crush time between then and now. It seems to me, sadly, the call to vote for Harris is a call to keep the status quo, business-as-usual for the exterminators. Hideous! We should all have the capacity of imagination which is the vehicle for empathy and put ourselves in the skin of those in Gaza. Thanks again. It is good to find like minds on here.
