Caitlin, This is not the first time you have moved me to tears. The sheer hopelessness of it all. We are wringing our hands and looking on while a whole nation is destroyed. Mothers weary, with no respite from the Israeli/US bombs, forced from one rubble strewn landscape, to another rubble heap to save their starved and sick children; orphaned children grown old before their time, the men taken away tied and naked. Israel with the backing of empire, making war and spreading it onto neighbouring countries.
The world has seen it all. Yet you go on writing, doing a great job than most, for us not to ever forget. Hope too in urging us that there is hope.
Maybe there is hope - in BRICS. A whole new concept to rid the world of a monstrous world (dis)order.
It may help to rid the world of a construct whose time is past. But I would be extremely surprised if imperfections did not emerge in BRICS structures, intentionally or unintentionally. But it may take a few lifetimes for them to become sufficiently apparent that the next organisational revolution starts to take shape.
