Every interaction I have with my "healthcare" [translate: disease-care] insurer convinces me of my status as a commodity to be traced, risk-evaluated, cost-minimized, and overall corporately managed to whatever level of granularity possible. I'm just another bit of fodder in the capitalist engine. It's no wonder that were it not for a bit of empathy from my doc, this would be easily mistaken for something other than medical care. Of course folks are pissed.
It's even worse than that. They're also willing participants in surveillance capitalism. I arrived home from a routine MD appt. yesterday to find an email from my insurer on my computer asking me to respond to it to "let them know when I was in the building". I don't do email on my phone and I'm not freaking glued to it, so I didn't get it -- in the building. They were so intensely focused on tracing my movements to my appt. and their effing copay, that they expected me to respond to their every track of my life. Of course their email was "no reply", else from home I'd have responded: "too late, go f*ck yourselves". Sheer unmitigated criminal greed.

Yes and because it’s big business - there’s little promotion of preventative care - preferring that people get sick, better for business.
