Every time I bring this up im either admonished by people like Jordan Peterson as this idea being abhorrent or I get uncomfortable silence and the faint sounds of crickets chirping in the calm absent night. Then the slinking away of the people of perposed intellect who can't face such an uncomfortable thought that might be more true than their self image can handle.

Humans might just possible be a form of planetary cancer, an anomaly of nature, just with a board of directors, where the meetings minuets reflect the basic drive of their species, devour everything, meeting adjourned.

Couple that with the clever manipulation of superstition fear and religion created by our opulent psycopath leaders and the mind of this cancer is indeed captured to the point it ignores the murder of its host organism and thus itself..

Humans are benign and malignant. It depends on what their societies turn them into. Societies that see themselves as agents of Creation itself are most likely to behave malignantly, lay waste, manufacture unease, and create genocidal peaces.

Of course, Jordie and friends believe they are using their supposed moral authority in service of some greater good, the content of which greater good just happens to coincide almost exactly with whatever was beaten into them as children.

Actually, humans bear some responsibility. It is not just what their societies turn them into. That is disempowerment. We have the power to become.

It's clear and apparent that societies put a lot of time and effort into shaping people, according to their values and other lore, to fit the particular social order. Recognizing that fact, I am a person. I can shape and be shaped, and the subject-object of my shaping can be myself. That's pretty empowering! The notion of moral Perfectionism that travels with most ideologies of Becoming is problematic.

Humans squandering their great potential for long term survival and prosperity for the short term satisfaction they get from greed lusts and power.. Perhaps the human is just not capable of getting out of its own way.

Add to that the psycopath that now order all of society (especially in the west) use their power of manipulation of the average mind into this Orwellian hell scape we now find ourselves.. The problem I see with the average moke is they are just DUMB and the systems of public education teaches them to be docile compliant and mindlessly repeating memorized dates and times of historic events (even while false) to better corral them into whatever direction the oligarchs wish... Especially if it's for their cathartic two minute hate.

I agree with your cancer analogy, I’ve used the term virus to describe humans that nature will rid herself of. My personal opinion is that Religion is a male hierarchical business about power and money. Even today in third world countries starving people are forced to listen to sermons to ‘earn’ the right to be fed.

The bible has been rewritten at least fifty times and imagine how many translation errors! Somewhere it went horribly wrong from the first agnostic Christian’s. I believe we are meant to be the caretakers of the planet and all upon it not users and consumers destroying the eco system.

Great comment and I agree... Religon in itself is not a bad idea,,but the manipulation of it is used as a control mechanisms
