The eventual break could be in a few days or in a few years. "Not Trump" isn't a foolproof strategy even while Trump himself exists. The system trying to save itself will ironically cause its demise.
I don't think that he himself won't but at the same time I do not think he is helping matters either. I believe that if the system were smart it would have taken a hands-off approach to Trump but instead had a (whether staged or not) allergic reaction to him that has ended up with a record level of public distrust in the government. I do not think that is ultimately sustainable even if the system is able to continue consolidating. I might be blathering nonsense, I have been up nearly 24 hours. I will be going to sleep now.
