I wonder if this inward outward distinction is an illusion. I started meditating 30 minutes a day during the pandemic and as I understand it, you go in to go out and you go out to go in. One of many paradoxes. There may be blissed out bunnies who are navel gazing, but for them meditating might be better than running around like chickens with the heads cut off looking for problems to solve that in the end only make the problem worse. An "enlightened being" doing nothing is better than a delusional being doing something.
