The comparison is important because JEWISH people, in Israel and elsewhere, need to look face to face with the enormity of Israel's crime, its parallels to what they like to consider History's Greatest Crime--like, they object when anyone uses the word holocaust to refer to anything but the 6 million Jews in Europe. And trying to excuse it by seeing the Palestinians as subhuman--how can they not hear that word as Untermenschen, the German equivalent which was used to describe Jews?
