The debate about violence vs. non-violence is misplaced (in this context). It is a much larger discussion that needs a broader perspective based on various factors like context, history, belief-systems, and more.
It's not a discussion about either/or - that's black-and-white thinking that you (and many others that make such an argument) have succumbed to. It requires NUANCE. But when you start out a comment with 'one of the options being disabled by default', that shows a LACK of nuance and more an argument based on PERSONAL belief systems than logic, rationality, and strategies. (I'm not going to attempt to address your flawed analogies here - not to mention your MULTIPLE strawman arguments that you offer yourself and then counter your OWN arguments - not realizing that it is YOU who is making the arguments that you counter, not me).
Something else you might want to consider doing (just a suggestion) is read Sun Tzu's 'The Art of War' - because what humanity is facing currently is MUCH MORE than 'just a war' - it is a battle for the VERY EXISTENCE of humanity (and the planet). There are too many dots-to-connect (steps) involved to walk you through this process here, and many people seem not to have grasped yet the 'magnitude of these crises' and assume 'we have the luxury of debating violence vs. non-violence'. We are WAY PAST such luxuries (again, many/most people have not reached this stage in their thought processes yet to fully understand/appreciate what I'm trying to convey here).
