I very much agree Chang there is no time to lose. But the thought of bringing the empire down by violence is misplaced. If for instance you saw a big strong man beating a defenceless old woman then attacking from behind and bringing a baseball bat down on his head to stop him and hopefully bring him down seems to me a paradigm justified case for counter violence. But you can't attack the evil empire and bring it down by surprise. And even if you could the attack would trigger a swarm of nuclear weapons whose use would signal th end of human civilisation and maybe even the destruction of all global infrastructure signaling the end of all animal life and perhaps even the end of all global life. Such is the destructive potential held by these monster psychopaths.... We need calm intelligent forceful counter action .

But when you start out a comment with 'one of the options being disabled by default', that shows a LACK of nuance and more an argument based on PERSONAL belief systems than logic, rationality, and strategies. Something else you might want to consider doing (just a suggestion) is read Sun Tzu's 'The Art of War' - because what humanity is facing currently is MUCH MORE than 'just a war' - it is a battle for the VERY EXISTENCE of humanity (and the planet). There are too many dots-to-connect (steps) involved to walk you through this process here, and many people seem not to have grasped yet the 'magnitude of these crises' and assume 'we have the luxury of debating violence vs. non-violence'.
