The US has systems that can track missiles from space and give early warning. If a hypersonic weapons breaches US airspace you can bet they will launch. Mach 10 is 7600 miles per hour, distance from Russia to Montana is 8000 miles, the hyper-missile would be in the air for at least 30 minutes prior to impact, it would be detected and a response launched.
