Do you want me to sell sunshine, to tell comforting lies?

I believe people should try to make a difference. I was active, as I said many times, during the anti-war movement, which bore no fruit, as they say. I still call out representatives even from other states for the things they say, like I recently called Lindsay Graham for his hawkish rhetoric. Will it make a difference, probably not, but I did what I thought was right, and I never feel that because my efforts often bear no fruit, all was in vain. Never!

I am not suggesting that you not do any of these things.

Well, my response was based on what Feral said, which was our attempts to make a difference is often a waste of time, and my position is do what you want to do, and if it makes a difference, great, and if not, well, you tried. Although I understand where he's coming from.

Hi Fran

I don’t think Feral was insinuating that we shouldn’t take actions.

What he meant, I believe, is that the ByeDone Regime doesn’t give a flying fuck about the public’s opinions.

Also I see trying to do the right thing even if it bears no fruit, makes you a better person, healthier. I watched those clips and I don't think I ever truly realized how sick Israel as country has become. Hopefully the people shown here are radical in their beliefs and don't represent the majority, but who knows. Not to say America doesn't need a lot of fixing.

The most important thing in life is always doing the right thing! I too have been chastised my entire life for caring so much!!! Don't stop!

I won't chastise you for caring as long as you won't chastise me for telling you your actions make no difference.

It isn't as if I don't care.

It's that I recognize the futility of caring if I'm not going to actually "do" something. Where "doing" means actually making a difference.

If you have a rock in your garden that needs to be moved, touching it accomplishes nothing. You "tried" but so what?

I'm not wanting to be a "dick" here, but unless something changes, what's the point?

The slightest bit of inspiration or truth speaking can make all the difference, can be the straw the breaks the camels back, for someone, for many, for the world.

Sometimes it may actually feel like that (beleive me my life has been an avalanche of adversity that I've dealt with through the prism of humor) but you truly never know how your actions may actually have an effect somewhere! I recall a situation about 20 years ago where someone said "look what she did" and it just blew me away! I have spent my entire life doing for others - it's what I enjoy but no one had ever acknowledged it like this! Really appreciated WHAT I HAD DONE rather than just a simple thank you! Don't be so hard on yourself - you'd be surprised to find out some way somehow it did matter!!

Israel did not “become“, it always had been. YOU are just more informed. The state was formed in war crimes, and has always been in war crimes. It is a war criminal instituted entity for the West. I do know it's history, acquired after the fall of the Ottoman Empire, and handed over to the Zionists who were after if for years. and I know there were many American Jews in position of power in the US that imposed their will on those in the UN to make it a reality. I learned quite a bit this last month. I know they sell it as if it is theirs, since they resided there some 2000 years ago. The more I learn the more I believe this is going to get a lot worse. Interesting that Netanyahu has been in bed with Hamas, so to speak, since they did not, and he did not want a two state solution and he empowered them. How convenient that Hamas carries out a plan that gives Netanyahu what he has always wanted, that is the reason to destroy Palestine once and for all. I sometimes wonder if he was complicit in their assault in one way or another.
