Franklin may have been somewhat the exception. Then again, the idea that "all men are [actually] created equal" was rather radical thought, especially by the standards of the landed classes in 1783.

It was pretty much axiomatic at the time that some people were the Better Classes and thus born to rule while others were born to serve, stations in life and all that.

I was kind of shocked by that video that really high lighted the degree of prejudice Israeli children are subjected to, and the degree of indoctrination. It's sick! They are encouraged not only to be highly prejudicial toward the Arab world but to view the world in black and white terms, which means they are encouraged not to think at all. Achtung.
