Zionism strikes me as belonging back in the 15th or 16th centuries. Russell Dobular, a Jew, of the podcast Due Dissidence said on the Jimmy Dore show that he hated his brief childhood stint in Hebrew school because together with the Hebrew came pro-Zionist propaganda which he despised and rejected. I'm thrown back to French Catholicism in 1550, when the Protestant Huguenots (Christians, of course) were hated and persecuted -- and the reverse situation in England, where the Anglicans sought to promote hate and eliminate Catholics from their midst. Here we have Zionists (Jews, supposedly) seeking to inculcate other Jews (like Russell) with hate and the desire to purge non-Jewish occupants of Palestine from their midst -- for the nefarious purpose of land theft.
Zionism belongs in the 16th Century. To be practicing it in the 21st --- through brainwashing American and European Jews and murdering indigenous people (as European settlers did in the Americas beginning in the 15th/16th Centuries) is a throwback. Completely unsuitable and inappropriate to modernity.
If this historical justification is all you can find for ending this madness, for silencing Zionism, I pity you --- But I'll take it because any excuse to send Zionism back into the bowels of history -- be it 2000 BCE or 1550 AD is useful. While forms of tribalism have always existed (as far as I know), nationalism did not really get going in terms of oppression and slaughter until the 19th century, and especially the 20th, when weapons and media were both industrialized and millions upon millions were killed, maimed, terrorized, enslaved, tortured, raped, and whatever else you can think of. The Israelis have some catching up to do if they're ambitious. The US is said to have killed two million civilians in Vietnam, for instance.
