The hypocrisy invalidated the entire movement, since the real motive was not really about women - but about destroying your political opponents or anyone else who got in your way.
ps: Not saying some good didn't come out of it - some pretty heinous men did end up where they belonged. But the good that came out of it was for the wrong reasons and arbitrarily applied.
