I have a friend of Jewish background who attends my UU Church. A couple years ago, perhaps at the start of the Great March of Return, I was circulating a petition regarding Palestinian rights. I don't remember exactly what it was, perhaps BDS or something about denouncing the atrocities being committed against marchers, including the murder of a young nurse. He signed, but I could tell from his expression how much it hurt him to have to do so. Not being a mind-reader, I don't know if there was some guilt about opposing fellow Jews, disappointment that he would be forced by Israeli authorities to do so, or perhaps even anger at the state of Israel. I'm sure the situation is difficult for all Jews everywhere to stand up for what they know to be right. I can't imagine what hate must be directed toward B'Tselem. Thank you, all of you, for your courage and humanity.
