If hamas had attacked Israels soldiers, that is one thing, but to kill unarmed people is something I can’t condone. Some of the comments in this thread scare me.

If you were paying attention, you wouldn’t be afraid. Most of those killed during the attack were killed by Israeli forces who are have a policy of killing their own civilians so that no hostages can be taken. They know about hostages as they have thousands of Palestinians locked up as “bargaining chips”, as they call them. Men, women and children, picked up off the streets over the years for no reason and no crime and no trial. Just locked up. Who’s scary now?

Muslims have been doing this for 1000+ years to all infidels as an excuse to take their land. All for Allah.

The only good Indian is a dead Indian.

I have been looking for a word that encompasses the confiscation of land and the murder/slaughter of Indignous peoples. I think it is "colonialism".

In Canada, the word “indian” has been replaced by”First Nations.”

Doesn't have the same ring.

I have for a long time thought "First Nations" was so much political correctness. I admit to having no knowledge of how it was chosen.

And in America, where I live, "Indian" is an oxymoron. But it's the best we can do. To change words now would lose a lot of written history.

The term “First Nations” came from the tribes that have settled their land claims in the Yukon, which where I came from. It is a term of respect. I don’t think you no what the word oxymoron means. It is quite obvious that you live in the United States. The word America covers all the land between the most northerly points in the United States and Canada and the most Southerly points in Argentina and Chile. This is divided into North, Central and South America.

Hi Britt, I don’t condone anything like that. I am totally aware of the back story between Israel and Palestine. I do not believe in an “eye for an eye” philosophy. What the Israelis are doing is horrific beyond belief. It still doesn’t mean that I condone killing unarmed civiluans.
