I usually go to Aljazeera everyday but I didn't see that headline. It's surprising they are overt about selling off Palestinian land in the West Bank. It's been decades of treating them badly. Abbas is very ineffectual. he was basically ignored since he wanted a 2 state solution. Life I read is pretty miserable there and there is a concerted effort to remove people from their land. I guess you feel you have a free hand when you see them as animals, as gallant called them, and I don't think the use of that word was due to the October 7 attacks, but how they are viewed. If you view people in that light you have a free hand to imprison them for years without charges, steal their land, run them off their land, kill them. I'm glad I don't live there. There's a series of videos on Aljazeera and one is on their imprisonment of Palestinians and they have a very nice Jewish woman who cares a lot and tells it like it is. . Good film. ,
That's right. The Israelis used Oct 7 as a blessed opportunity to go full bore on Gaza...then the settlement Israelis joined the fun. Palestinians have been living in hell for decades. The IDF are much more barbaric than Hamas but, of course, the news just tells people it's all about that bad Hamas. I have been picking through this since Oct 7 and it's a lot to learn but always going in one direction. ...just how much Israel lies about everything. And, how much the USA is supporting this. I was disgusted to hear Biden mouth the same stuff about Israel; he has no choice. American Jewish lobby and institutions are really unstoppable. Israel just ramps up their power to do whatever they want. Now the West Bank is for sale........... "register here and you can reserve your free spot" to buy Palestinian land in The West Bank and soon in Gaza.

Israel from the moment it was born treated the Palestinians with a great deal of brutality and it started in 1948 with the nakba. Every assault by the Palestinians has been met with far greater brutality, even in the West Bank where they feel at liberty to run people off their land and I've even read settlers have killed them and suffered no consequences. Well, always difficult to own up to the realization of your own brutality, but a great ploy is to turn the victim into the perpetrator and I think Israel has engaged in this psychological ploy from the beginning of her stay in Palestine.I'm not saying they recognize they are doing this, but its similar to any abusive person who beats up his spouse, or child and then to justify their brutality vilify their victim. It's also becomes easier when you see your victim as less then human which gallant pointed out. The Holcaust did provide the role of victim and they were, but too bad they are using it to victimize others.

They were independent, smart, fringe, ...I got a book at the library that went back to the 1200's. This had been happening for centuries. One excuse or the other. Then it was always in the back of my mind...then I moved to NYC and had plenty of experiences with jews. Good and bad. I'd say this: watch your money. I had a Jewish friend for 20 years who was a love...we shared our difficult childhoods. she had a father who sexually abused her. I had a mother who did not like me. Anyway, I asked once something about Israel: No backflips but total silence. This situation has brought a lot to the front for me. She did receive the award but not in a big auditorium, in a small room with about 2 dozen people. I don't know if you subscribe or can open the article if you don't . but here it is.

Now I just have online which is sad but at least the damned things don't pile up, partially read. ......but not completely!! Masha is the ultimate expert.
