I've heard of the Hannibal directive and don't think or maybe they say it no longer is implemented. Who knows, who trusts them? I really think they knew before hand that Hamas was going to implement an attack but dismissed warnings several times and one could question their motives behind that. Hopefully the whole truth will come out. I don't remember if it was you that drew my attention to this, but I'll just put it here,
US: Israeli real estate event draws backlash over sale of West Bank settlement properties
Council on American-Islamic Relations calls for federal investigation into real estate event in Teaneck, New Jersey
An Israe ublished date: 5 March 2024 21:30 GMT | Last update: 5 days 1 hour ago An Israeli realissate event in Canada and the US is facing major backlash from community residents as well as pro-Palestinian activists over the advertisement of properties located in Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, which are deemed illegal under international law.
The event, titled the "Great Israeli Real Estate Event", took place in Montreal on Tuesday evening, and there will be upcoming events in Toronto, New Jersey, and New York this month.
The event's website advertises properties located in several Israeli cities. It also lists the following Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank: Neve Daniel, Efrat, Ma’ale Adumim.
The Jewish Link, a Jewish newspaper from the American northeast region, reported that individuals can register for the events at the website for the company, My Home in Israel.
My Home in Israel lists properties for sale in several areas of the occupied West Bank, including in East Jerusalem.
Holy Shit! No, this is new to me. I will add it to my long 23 page Israel Docs file, started on Oct 7. Not surprised, but how the hell could they think that it's not really bad public relations for the Jews everywhere.
And, sales events at Synagogues.
I truly believe the Jews crave being hated. Not all. just a lot. The USA is in deep shit with this "ally". As long as they're getting away with everything so far, why not go even bigger? Rub it in our noses.

Come to your own conclusions which I am sure are going to be negative on Israel.
....On August 1, 2014, the New York Times reported that Hamas had captured an IDF officer and that the IDF responded with an assault that killed around 140 Palestinian civilians. The "Hannibal Directive" was not mentioned in the article. The paper had not been subjected to this level of scrutiny for more than six years.[9] The New York Times was contacted by the Israeli military censor and informed that any material related to the missing officer had to be submitted for prior review before publication.[10]
Israel started bombing on day one. Did they care where the hostages were? Last thing on their minds....they were SO thrilled to have an opportunity to go big on killing more of the "filth" Treif....in their country. https://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/3947400/jewish/What-Does-Treif-Mean.htm.............anyone who is not a Jew is treif. I know that yiddish word from living in NYC. The Israelis are not racist, they are against anyone who is not a Jew.... and, can take advantage of them, and they do.
I usually go to Aljazeera everyday but I didn't see that headline. It's surprising they are overt about selling off Palestinian land in the West Bank. It's been decades of treating them badly. Abbas is very ineffectual. he was basically ignored since he wanted a 2 state solution. Life I read is pretty miserable there and there is a concerted effort to remove people from their land. I guess you feel you have a free hand when you see them as animals, as gallant called them, and I don't think the use of that word was due to the October 7 attacks, but how they are viewed. If you view people in that light you have a free hand to imprison them for years without charges, steal their land, run them off their land, kill them. I'm glad I don't live there. There's a series of videos on Aljazeera and one is on their imprisonment of Palestinians and they have a very nice Jewish woman who cares a lot and tells it like it is. . Good film. ,
That's right. The Israelis used Oct 7 as a blessed opportunity to go full bore on Gaza...then the settlement Israelis joined the fun. Palestinians have been living in hell for decades. The IDF are much more barbaric than Hamas but, of course, the news just tells people it's all about that bad Hamas. I have been picking through this since Oct 7 and it's a lot to learn but always going in one direction. ...just how much Israel lies about everything. And, how much the USA is supporting this. I was disgusted to hear Biden mouth the same stuff about Israel; he has no choice. American Jewish lobby and institutions are really unstoppable. Israel just ramps up their power to do whatever they want. Now the West Bank is for sale........... "register here and you can reserve your free spot" to buy Palestinian land in The West Bank and soon in Gaza.
Thanks, Caitlln put out another post, and in response to someone's comment who said a friend, a Jewish woman, a really lovely person did a back flip when Palestinians entered their conversation. Israel from the moment it was born treated the Palestinians with a great deal of brutality and it started in 1948 with the nakba. Every assault by the Palestinians has been met with far greater brutality, even in the West Bank where they feel at liberty to run people off their land and I've even read settlers have killed them and suffered no consequences. Well, always difficult to own up to the realization of your own brutality, but a great ploy is to turn the victim into the perpetrator and I think Israel has engaged in this psychological ploy from the beginning of her stay in Palestine.I'm not saying they recognize they are doing this, but its similar to any abusive person who beats up his spouse, or child and then to justify their brutality vilify their victim. It's also becomes easier when you see your victim as less then human which gallant pointed out. The Holcaust did provide the role of victim and they were, but too bad they are using it to victimize others.
You've got it nailed. So few know these things. My X, with whom I have a good relationship, said why are you interested in this, you can't do anything about it?....Well, I can't do much about anything, that's a fact. who can? It's a study. I started being curious around '63 when I found out about the Holocaust (I don't think ayone was using that word for it then) People like me, a good German (75%) American did that awful thing to Jews , who I considered cool. They were independent, smart, fringe, ...I got a book at the library that went back to the 1200's. This had been happening for centuries. One excuse or the other. Then it was always in the back of my mind...then I moved to NYC and had plenty of experiences with jews. Good and bad. I'd say this: watch your money. I had a Jewish friend for 20 years who was a love...we shared our difficult childhoods. she had a father who sexually abused her. I had a mother who did not like me. Anyway, I asked once something about Israel: No backflips but total silence. This situation has brought a lot to the front for me. I'll share this with you.......Masha Gessen has an article in The New Yorker,IN THE SHADOW OF THE HOLOCAUST. Also, on PBS Youtube , Amanpour speaks with her. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YU6kP9UqhGI&t=82s
She's a Russian expert but is now shining a bright light on this situation in Gaza which she has compared to a Nazi Ghetto. She's hardly the only one but has some interesting insights. Also, interviewed on by Amy Goodman, Democracy Now...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtSD2Y5g5OM
The things she is saying about antisemitism have been on my radar sine Oct 7 ...
Thanks for those links, I'll catch up on them tomorrow and get back to you. Sound really interesting. I didn't have a great childhood either since my father was, well, to be hones, a bastard.
