Yeah, but we don't have "an objective news media in the western world" or anywhere in the world at the moment, & we never have had. The news has always been controlled by TPTB (the powers that be: the morbidly rich oligarchs who effectively own & control the world we all live in) because with the current state of surveillance technology there's no escaping Big Brother. Even the less privileged oligarchs are surveilled by the more privileged to ensure that they're also being compliant & complicit & not hoarding contraband. The best way to prevent spreading damning news throughout the world is for news-outlet editors to totally ignore tales of UN staff torture to extract false statements against UNRWA & to infrequently publish on graveyard pages curated stories implying that as yet unsubstantiated allegations that UN staff were tortured to extract false claims against UNRWA are currently being investigated, and then to not follow up on the progress of those claimed investigations.
