It's just more proof that having tertiary qualifications doesn't mean one knows everything or that they are actually intelligent or wiser than everyone else. Also, the higher the qualification, the more arrogant and close-minded some of these people are likely to be. An example of this, is an interview I watched on one of the mainstream channels here in Australia that featured a Professor from Sydney University. For a guy his age and standing, he proved to be a very arrogant, defensive and evasive character who failed to both keep his composure and offer intelligent responses to the questions he was given. So yeah, earning a tertiary qualification is great, but don't put such people on a pedestal; they are not omnipotent or infallible.
I wanted to add another observation in this conversation. I have had a few different attempts and approaches in shining the truth light on this family member and a few friends in which one major common occurrence happens called "Buzzwords"! I have shown pictures, post and articles or during conversation mentioned a name. This is like shutting off the light! No matter what is in the picture or evidence in writing after this "Buzzword" there is an immediate vile response.
They are in an intellectual coma. The route of awakening for these kind of people requires time. The good thing is that you are awake, and therefore you are ahead of them. Whatever superiority they may think they have over you has been squandered by their close-mindedness and cognitive biases. Remember, they have the problem, not you!
Thank you for that. I have actually been going over this in my mind because I am truly concerned for the very life of our planet. Trying to go over different ways to portray the horrible situation we are all in? For me is this very apparent arrogance perhaps bordering on pompousness? of the people who I truly care about in their belief that they are somehow better/above? someone who they have never met on the literal other side of the planet!? It is a very scary thing to witness such closed minded thoughts from as I said before a family member who just the day before said "love ya" at the end of the conversation! It is really evident the deep embedding of this propaganda as you don't get an argument or countering belief but an immediate "go fuck yourself" and believe me it is not just from family I hear this. This is by far the greatest means of defeating an enemy by having them fight against themselves for you.
