Then they clearly need to get help.

Anyways, I was referring to an entire demographic, not just individuals.

I do not see that people who have suffered serious abuse should be the kindest people in the world. I also underwent serious abuse as a child. I did not automatically become a kind and loving person. I was mostly a confused person until I got help. And it took a long time to recover.

It takes a lot of work and determination to get to a place where one can see the long line of abuse and pain that has happened before the abuser got to you. At some point we have to stop hating and work on understanding. Only then will the cycle be broken and maybe wars and hating will stop. There is no need to forgive our abusers. Only to understand how they got there so that maybe we can slow it down from happening more.

Again, Susan:

This thing called EMPATHY.

Why in hell would you want genocide against a population when your own people experienced it?

Jews should be the very people advocating AGAINST genocide.

WTF don’t you get?

It is you who is not understanding. Very often, when people have not processed and understood what happened to them, they either repeat it or harm themselves by using drugs or booze. This article might clarify some things for you. Or not. https://dissidentvoice.org/2024/01/social-formation/#more-147242

I don’t need “clarification”. I don’t use street drugs and I’m only a very occasional drinker.

My way of dealing with what happened to me is to slam that door. And keep it shut.

Six months after I kicked out my abuser, I met the man with whom I’ve had a nearly 43-year marriage.

I am not talking about your personal situation. My purpose in trying to understand issues of abuse is a little wider than that.

I don't support what the state of Israel is doing. I think that, in global terms, if we want to try to understand how to stop hate and genocide, we need to look further.

also, gypsy, I would say from the way you have responded to me that you are a verbally abusive person. I hope that does not extend to the physical.
