Not a huge fan of Marx, but he had a point with that one. Harkens back to the Roman empire's bread and circuses. There are many people in this country who are already desperate, but as you say, most of us are comfortable enough.

I treat no human as infallible. I've been known to quote for truth thinkers as radically different as Marx, L.N. Tolstoi, Goebbels, Goering, Chomsky and others. When they are right, they are right.

I think Marx's analysis of the problem is insightful, but his proposed solutions are way off.
Certainly, his track record for predictions has not panned out.
