I am not sure of how any of the illusions that are drilled into the heads of Americans from cradle to grave via the government's plethora of national security state emanations, the lame history books used during a typical child's education, the completely worthless corporate media outlets and their endless drivel, and the entertainment industry's CIA condoned Manichaean black and white world of superheroes and villians still resonate with the public as reality. But they do. July 4th, the US "Independence Day" celebrations are just two days away. Sadly, the flag-waving illusions of the Empire will fill the airwaves and we will see another yearly display of mindless subservience showing how little independence the US public really has.
