Some decades ago NPR got a corporatized CEO. Shortly afterwards, a gentleman progressively oriented news man was suddenly fired from his early morning program. Then, later on NPR iniatiated their “non-commercial” commercials regularly chewing up time. Concomitantly, News hosts interviewing “experts and notables” somehow forgot to mention those beacons of truth and wisdom were from the Federalist Society and various right-wing think tanks. And when listening carefully to reportage you came increasingly aware of greater and more frequent sins of omission. So the picture given you was snagged in certain directions like a fun house mirror where you body contorts and stretches in weird exaggerated movements. I was angry about the deceits for a long time and wrote letters. Then, with sadness I simply accepted the consequence of corporatization is purposeful distortion in service of mammon in lieu of service to civic integrity. Always —Inc. in the manner it operates today —-cheapens, fowls, and degrades “right relationship” with anything animate and inanimate. Like someone wise said.
