My wife consistently belittles my tapping into alt media or unapproved (by her) corporate media like Faux, which I do take with a grain of salt but sometimes tells a bit of truth, just as MSNBC sometimes told the truth during W's regime. I finally told her she was ignorant (because "to ignore" is a willful act resulting from cognitive dissonance and submissive authoritarianism) after she wrung her hands over Afghan women. I know it's not the way to persuade people, but I'm increasingly fed up.
Maybe get her to ponder the rather puzzling truth that after a twenty year American war we're only now getting pictures of Afghan women and children from the media. Then while she's trying to unravel such deep mysteries get her to try and recall the last time she saw any Palestinian women and children in the media at all, because of her deep concern for -- you know -- the world's women and children.
