The only reason he was elected was a 4 year harangue against Trump. Doesn't matter what you think about him, but that was one of his many uses to get someone like Biden in, so he could continue where the Obama administration left off in regard to Ukraine and Russia. In 2016 they were sure it would be Clinton but no, it was Trump who thought it was a good idea to get along with Russia. Many people dismiss what our intentions were in supporting the coup in 2014, but I wasn't. Remember what Biden said back from his trip, "Putin has got to go." That was the plan from the beginning, and the why of the Russia-gate BS, where they could spend 4 years vilifying not only Trump, but Russia.
It's a side note to your point in your last two posts here:
But isn't it interesting that the US Empire gets to declare who they do and don't want in the top power positions in other countries--and often undertake actions to bring their desires about--but if a key figure in another country expresses an opinion about who they desire to win a US election, they are resoundingly denounced by the Empire and its State Media?
(Heck, the training is so good here that many of my friends and family members still go into conniptions at the thought that some Russians might have put up some memes critical of Hillary in 2016.)
I never had any problem in not trusting the good old USA. I use to watch those old cowboy and Indian movies as a kid that always said the Indians are the bad guys even though we were the ones stealing their land. No adult could explain that contradiction so I came to a conclusion of my own, my government cannot be trusted to tell me the truth. When we pledged the flag at school I never said with liberty and justice for all. My allegiance is to the people of this country, not my government.
You were ahead of me on these things. I recall having an inkling when I was young that there was something wrong with some of the cowboy and Indian movies. I was well into adulthood before ceasing to say the pledge of allegiance or standing for the national anthem.
Like you, I'm loyal to (good) people and certain ideals.
